We enjoyed a private tour of Hanzell Winery, as we were hosted by Ben, their estate educator, as he poured 2003 and 2004 chardonnays, as well as a 2003 pinot. First we started in the tasting room (where this picture was taken), then he drove us into the vineyards, then we ended in the cellars.
Hanzell Winery is tucked up in the hills of Sonoma, along a dirt road that revels itself into a stately home. Not at all touristy - exactly what you'd expect from a lush, rich wine.
