Silicon Valley Fashion - Sharp Dressed Men

I've noticed something of late. Men in Silicon Valley are looking sharp. No more uniform de rigueur of khaki Dockers with a company-logo'd polo shirt. No way. Now we're talking style -- color-coordination and a definition of personal creativity in clothes. Right on, as we women agree with ZZ Top: Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.

Here are some examples.

First, take a look at Om's warm sienna turtleneck complementing his olive skin tone. On top, a very posh Burberry jacket that brings out the brown in his eyes. Of course, no man in Om's position could be without the consummate accessory - the latest mobile phone - which he models for us here.

This man knows how to strike a pose. He's single, ladies, and has a wonderful way with words (check out gigaom.com).

Next, take a look at Mr. Midas Touch, Howard. Howard is sporting a classic ensemble which says I know what I want and I know how to get it. Quality, cut and color. Just like a diamond, Howard knows how to sparkle. For you single girls, unfortunately, Howard is off the market. But he does speak fluent Japanese and knows where to find the best sushi in the Bay Area.

Next up, a true European collection. My man is on the left, representing London (we'll get to him later) with Eric in the middle representing the French, and finally, Lars Hinrichs one of the most debonair young men in all of Europe, representing Germany, at the right.

Both Eric and Lars are fresh off a 15 hour flight in this photo, but you'd never know. They both are looking dashing and au courant.

Although Eric is a VC (like Howard above), he's not stuffy. Here he's working the camera with a soft pink button-up that harmonizes with his fresh-faced complexion.

Lars is one of the hottest entrepreneurs in Europe -- you'll certainly hear more about him this year as he makes his mark in Europe, the US and the world at large. He's still a youngster (he JUST turned 30!) but he's accomplished a heck of a lot in those three decades, most recently, he took his company XING.com through the first ever Web 2.0 IPO! Serious work from a seriously smart, confident, and exceptionally bright young man. Fashion-wise, he is the epitome of effortless elegance. A butter-soft lamb's leather jacket, thick and cozy cashmere sweater, and jeans say he can afford the finest things in life without being audacious.

As for his availability, he's married to a stunningly beautiful and smart woman, as you'd imagine (and she's seriously cool - right on).

Finally, I can't write about men's fashion without a plug for my main man. Dominic has always been fashion-forward, knowing how to combine cut and color to impeccably drape his modelesque frame. Here he poses at the Hotel Vitale in a Mark Jacobs moss green velvet sports coat with a candy-striped button-up. Creative yet conservative and full of personal flair.

I'll be keeping an eye out for more examples of the burgeoning fashion industry here in trendy SF ;-)
