Christmas gifts

Zihua 006, originally uploaded by kathyjohnson.

The shawl that I'm wearing is a gift from The Tides hotel. It's called a "rebozo" which is a woman's garment used in Mexico which is usually made of cotton, wool, silk or articela. It can be worn as a scarf or shawl and women often use them to carry children and take products to the market. This rebozo comes from the indigenous people from Oaxaca State (apparently the rebozos from Michoacan, Oaxaca, Queretaro and San Luis Potosi States are particularly prized).

I'm also sporting a new necklace from my hub. It's the sun, moon and star on a sparkly silver chain. Beautiful!
