The LA marathon was the first marathon I ran, and the last as well. The first time was in 1997 and the last was in 2003. In between, I also ran the Vienna Marathon, and numerous half-marathons in Seattle, Brussels, and San Francisco. Then I took a 6 year break before just completing the Napa to Sonoma half-marathon in July of this year. I'm not sure I'm up for running another marathon, as it's pretty hard on the body, but if the LA Marathon does change their route to incorporate the gorgeous views of Santa Monica, I might just have to reconsider and try my 4th LA Marathon on 2010.
