Her mate came to her side and stood by her as she passed away. Once gone, he cried aloud as he mourned his love.

Apparently the photographer sold these photos for a nominal fee to the most famous newspaper in France . All copies of that newspaper were sold out on the day these pictures were published.

Anyone who has had a bird as a pet knows that birds (and animals) have feelings. For those who doubt, these photos tell a story of love and heartbreak.
