Thanks to Sebastian Becker for organizing a very informative conference in Munich last week all about managed networks and open internet approaches to IPTV. I was invited to keynote on the second day of the conference and was asked to talk about marketing of IPTV. Our client, kyte.tv, provided an excellent example of how to bridge the gap between TV, the internet, and mobile applications so I used the success around kyte.tv's global PR and marketing as a case study. I'm glad many people found it interesting - I wasn't sure if I was hitting the mark with that story, as I only had arrived the night before from London and wasn't able to attend the other sessions.
I also had a chance to sit on a panel with Ewald Weizenbauer of Global Equity Partners (Austria's largest VC) and Joerg Uerbela of Wellington Partners in Munich (the last time we met was in SF).
Afterwards, we enjoyed a warm evening in the beer garden before heading off to meet my good friend Dinese.
Here is the program from the IPTV Conference.
